Metro City Moves

London removals, priced in writing before you book

We move homes and offices across London, from a single room to a full house. We survey the removals job before we quote, and the quote comes in writing, so the number you accept is the number you plan around.

The process

Three steps, and you know the price before the van is booked

It is easier to describe the result than the method. This is the method, so you can hold any removals firm to it, including us.

  1. 01

    The survey

The questions that decide the price get asked first, not on the day. Which floor, whether there is a lift, how far the van can park from the door, and what is actually going. A survey can be a video call.

  2. 02

    The written quote

You get the price in writing, with what is included and what is not, so both sides are looking at the same list. Anything you add before you accept is priced in the quote.

  3. 03

    Moving day

The crew walks the route before anything is lifted. The load is built and strapped in sections rather than strapped once at the end, and both properties get a final walk round before anyone leaves.

Start with a survey

After the van has gone

The last box goes down, and nothing on the invoice is a surprise

You agreed a written figure before anything was lifted. If something changes on the day — a lift out of service, or a van that cannot get within fifty metres of the door — you hear what it costs before the work happens, not on the bill afterwards.

What we do

16 services, so you are not booking three different firms

The move, the clean and the clearance are one company and one number. Grouped by the kind of job, because a student move and an office move are not the same conversation even when they use the same van.

Removals routes across London we quote for

Prices follow a survey. We do not publish a headline figure, because the cost turns on access, floor, parking distance and volume, and a number quoted before those are known is a guess.

What people say

Reviews left by people we have moved

Left on our Google profile. Every card links back to it, so you can read the rest — including any we would rather you did not.

  • Good experience with Metro City Moves. 4 bedroom house seemed bit difficult to move from London to Liverpool, but they planned well and successfully executed. Thank you.

Why us

Six things we can actually show you

Not adjectives. Every line below is either how the job is actually run or something you can hold us to.

  • A survey on every job

Every one, on a video call or in person, before a price is given. Which floor, whether there is a lift, how far the van can park. Nothing is quoted off a guess.

  • The price in writing

What is included and what is not, as a list. Both sides read the same one, and anything you add before you accept is priced into it.

  • Every London postcode

North, south, east and west — from E and NW to BR, KT, RM and TW. Put your postcode in and the form will tell you straight away.

  • You can tell what you are booking

Each of the 16 services has a page describing what it actually involves, so you know what you are asking for before you call. Not a list of words.

  • The route is walked first

Before anything is lifted, the crew walks it — door widths, the turn on the stairs, where the van can sit. The load is then built and strapped in sections, not once at the end.

  • We say when we cannot help

Put a postcode outside our area into the form and it tells you so, and gives you a number, instead of taking a booking we would have to hand back.

What you get before you commit

  • A survey first, by video call or in person, so the price is built on what is actually there.
  • The quote in writing, listing what is included and what is not, so both sides read the same list.
  • Anything you add before you accept is priced into the quote you sign off.
