Most removals quotes are a guess. Someone asks how many bedrooms you've got, says a number down the phone, and you find out on the day what it actually costs. That's the bit we do differently. We're Metro City Moves. We move homes and offices across London.
Before we quote you anything, we look at the job. Usually that's a 10-minute video call. Sometimes we come out. We're checking the things that actually decide the price: which floor you're on, whether there's a lift, how far the van can park from the door, and what's really going, rather than what you think is going. Then you get the price in writing, what's included and what isn't, so we're both reading the same list.
There are 16 things we do. House moves, flats, man and van, student moves, long distance, offices, furniture delivery, flat pack assembly, same day jobs, pianos, packing and storage, end of tenancy cleaning, end of tenancy clearance, house clearance, rubbish removal. The point of that list is that it's one company. You're not booking a mover, then a cleaner, then someone to take the leftovers away, and trying to line all three up around one set of keys.
And most London moves has stairs, tight landings, no lift, a van that can't get within 50 metres of the door. That isn't the exception here, that's the job. On the day, the crew walk the route before anything gets lifted — doorways, the turn at the bottom of the stairs, where the van can sit. The load goes in and gets strapped in sections, not strapped once at the end. And both places get a walk round before anyone leaves.

The survey
The questions that decide the price get asked first, not on the day. Which floor, whether there is a lift, how far the van can park from the door, and what is actually going. A survey can be a video call.

The written quote
You get the price in writing, with what is included and what is not, so both sides are looking at the same list. Anything you add before you accept is priced in the quote.

Moving day
The crew walks the route before anything is lifted. The load is built and strapped in sections rather than strapped once at the end, and both properties get a final walk round before anyone leaves.
After the van has gone
The last box goes down, and nothing on the invoice is a surprise
You agreed a written figure before anything was lifted. If something changes on the day — a lift out of service, or a van that cannot get within fifty metres of the door — you hear what it costs before the work happens, not on the bill afterwards.
