Your choice, and changing it

Accepting and rejecting are the same single tap, and neither is the default. If you have never chosen, nothing is set — silence counts as no. You can change your mind here at any time:

What we set if you accept

Two tools run, and only after you accept. Google Analytics counts visits and shows us which pages lead to enquiries. Microsoft Clarity records a replay of how a page was used — scrolling, tapping, and which parts of it people never reach — which is how we find the pages that are failing people. These are their cookies:

• _ga and _ga_* — Google Analytics. Tell one browser apart from another so a return visit is not counted as a new person. Google documents both as lasting up to two years.
• _clck — Microsoft Clarity. The same job, for Clarity. Microsoft documents it as lasting up to one year.
• _clsk — Microsoft Clarity. Joins the pages of one visit into one session. Microsoft documents it as lasting one day.

We do not load Clarity on the quote page or the contact page. The quote page is where you type your name, your phone number and the postcodes you are moving between. The boxes on that form are masked as well, so the details you type could not appear in a recording anyway.

When Clarity runs, Microsoft can also set cookies from its own domains — it names MUID, CLID, ANONCHK, MR and SM in its cookie documentation. Those live on Microsoft’s domains, not ours, so rejecting here stops them being set through this site, but removing existing ones is a browser setting rather than something we can do for you.

The one exception

If you submit the quote form, the request carries a short-lived technical token that exists so the form cannot be submitted from somewhere else pretending to be you. It holds no information about you, it is not readable by anyone else, and it does not persist after the submission.

Cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have actively asked for are exempt from the consent requirement in law. Sending a form you chose to fill in is that.

Why there is a banner

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, consent is needed before a non-essential cookie is set — not afterwards, and not by assuming it from continued browsing. The banner is how we ask, and it does not load a single analytics script while it waits for your answer.

Rejecting is not a reduced version of the site. Every page, the quote form and the phone lines work identically either way; the only difference is that we cannot see which pages helped you get there.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most have a setting to reject third-party cookies entirely. Look for “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data” in your settings. Blocking cookies on this site will not break anything.
